Hello there. I’m Kate, a product designer from St. Louis, MO.

I like to make things that are both usable and useful. I’m not pushing pixels for the hell of it; I’m here to solve problems.

My Background

For over a decade, I’ve been designing complex native mobile apps, web apps, and websites—first at a small agency, working my way up from fresh-out-of-college contractor to Head of Product Design, and then as a freelance consultant. Being on small teams has given me a chance to do everything during the product lifecycle from initial ideation and research to final designs and post-launch improvements on a wide range of products.

  • Dashboards & CMS
    I’ve designed or improved customized dashboards for administering remote health studies, updating content in shopping apps, and monitoring large-scale cultivation.

    Retail & Auctions
    From stacking coupons on a curbside order of yarn, to winning a drawing for limited release Jordans, to bidding thousands on a vintage Corvette, I’ve had the opportunity to craft native mobile experiences for all manner of modern retail scenarios.

    Health Studies and Treatments
    Researchers from academic institutions, including Washington University in St. Louis and Harvard University, wanted to move their research out of the lab and into the real world. I helped meet their unique requirements through mobile apps, web portals, dashboards, and SMS interventions.

    IoT Devices
    I’ve designed interfaces for pilot programs of a couple IoT devices—a kitchen appliance and a connected fly fishing rod that helped users improve their cast.

    Games & Animation
    Critter City Construction was a children’s iPad app of my own design, but I’ve also done test animations for Tiggly and smaller UI interactions throughout products.
